Sarah Blasko has one of the most beautiful voices. I want the freezing cold, romantic winter to last forever while listening to her (which is funny because she is from The Down Under - Australia). “What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have” is a must-have. |

Kruder and Dorfmeister (of Austria) is according to anyone who “genre-fies” music as being the epitome of the “Chill” genre. And that they are - very “chill”. The variety (and huge discography) will calmly entertain your ears for hours. Great for work and/or lengthy projects. Pure headphone lovin! |

Without the voice of Cecellia Stalin- Koop might not be the same, but the correct events occurred- and they have produced this purely amazing jazz/ electronic music that is unmistakably unique. Cecellia Stalin is the sexiest voice you’ll ever hear, while Koop does everything to accent it (although, they’d be some bad-ass beats without vocals too). Koop “Islands”(recent album) is a beefed up “Waltz for Koop” with a bit of Caribbean influence. Again, the best from Sweden…

| You may not want to see Ornella nude for Playboy Italy from the 60’s after seeing that she was in Playboy in the 60’s, but her music gives you a handful of wonderful Italian dreams: You may be in Lake Como, or with a beautiful Italian Girl, or eating some gnocci, or all three! I first heard her in Ocean’s 12 - the opening scene singing L’ Apuntamento. She’s kind of like the Italian Ella Fitzgerald: you just know her voice - it can’t be confused with anyone else’s. Even her recent albums (almost 50 years of producing them) are great, although they are more modern with synthesized sounds - it’s still Ornella. I guarantee you that you’ll want to get Rosetta Stone and start learning Italian once you get hooked to Vanoni! | ![]() |

Album: Old Sand Mountain Cast King (who unfortunately died 2007) has an amazing album. It’s not just the music, but the fact that he did it in his late 70s! His music isn’t quite country - at least not what we consider to be “modern country” (even though he was a member of the “Country Drifters” in his early life), but has almost a “Johnny Cash if he had lived that long” type of feel. The stories are fun to listen to, and very catchy - as well as very funny. I wish he had lived longer to produce some more, this is definitely on my top album lists. When I’m driving I can’t stop repeating out loud “Everybody crazy about Peggy, everybody loves my girl. Everybody crazy ’bout Peggy, everybody wants my girl…” |

Sylvain Chauveau has a long list of records, all of which are really hard to find (without Boomkat). I’d have to say “Nauge” is my favorite. So simple, so quiet, and far from boring. The most simple and beautiful modern classical compositions you’ve heard. | ![]() |

Sandro Perri’s Tiny Mirrors is kind of like construction paper: Its messy and sloppy, but still soft and smooth at the same time. Coincidentally the cover of the album is on a textured construction like paper! A very unique mixture of instruments and Perri’s voice. Very relaxing.

| Fleet Foxes are exactly what indy - Seattle - folk - rock music should sound like. Relaxing, harmonic, smooth… If your familiar with “The Shins,” these guys are similar, but less pop, less distortion, and more peace. | ![]() |

| This album needs to be listened to exactly how the kind person who shared it simply put in a scan of the cd that he bought. “Please listen with your eyes closed.” The fact that who ever uploaded this went through extra effort to tell you to shows how much you really should! And may I add use headphones. The cover image really explains how you feel (image on right). You hear faint city sounds and lively things. If you had a beautiful and pleasant dream - this was the soundtrack.

Isolée is relaxing and surprising. I listen to a good deal of this eclectic housey type-ish music when I”m on the computer, and driving too. Don”t even really know how to describe them, you”ve gotta hear for yourself!

I found Emilie Simon a year or more ago and liked her until my friend from Montreal re-introduced me to her, and now I”m in love. Other than Corrine Bailey Rae, this is one of the sexiest voices to listen to. She’’s kind of like Lykke Li which you hear all over TV and popular indy type stores like Urban Outfitters now, but she’’s not as poppy and upbeat. Great soundtrack also for that really weird movie March of the Penguins |
