IC! Berlin has been on my “I want this, but I shouldn’t spend so much, but they are so awesome, but they’re too expensive, but I really really want them” list for a few years. They are indestructible - made out of sheet metal. The hinges are made by folds and cuts in the metal - meaning there are no screws and delicate hinge-parts that can be smashed easily. Started by of course - German design students, who ended up splitting, which left IC! Berlin still around, and a new company with the same concept (just different hinges) called Mykita. For the base price range being around US $385, I think they are worth it, but still a big chunk out of the pocket. Suiting if your like me: you always break your glasses, but not if your one who often looses them! Both have some great webistes also:

| Caught these in another blog and had to say something! I’ve never seen headphones so creatively designed. Hopefully the sound produced by these is also good. Even though they are a bit on the “Urban Outfitters” trendy-teenage type market, they are so unique, and clean (brushed metal finish) I think they’d be worth the $80 (as long as the sound is great). Although, comfort might also be an issue, either way - cool design!

Once I started driving my Great Grandfather’s 1971 Mercedes 280Se, I have found a great appreciation for classic cars. On the internet, however, it is hard to find good pictures of these cars because most are locked up in garages and even though they make their way around the world to car shows, they some how don’t often end up on our screens. Phil Seed’s Virtual Car Museum shows you tons and tons of classic cars, and even better - they are all images from the car’s time. Great ads, illustrations and photographs of these cars when they were in their prime. The simplicity of the ads alone attracts me (in such a large comparison to our over-done modern ads with tons of copy and drop-shadows). This site will be a new obsession of mine.
