The only word I can find to suite this film is “overwhelming.” From the outrageously beautiful Aishwarya Rai, to the Indian decoration, the monochromatic color schemes accented with gold - all are a lot to take in (especially when it lasts 4 hours). What I found most overwhelming were the numerous times my throat clenched up in awe of the powerful emotions expressed through the numbers of people along with the simplicity of the language. To some it may seem “korny,” but it is overall a romantic comedy. Also - many criticize its historical inaccuracy, but what history is accurate? (Besides, its about the love story, not the history) I loved it so much I spent another 4 hours watching it again. |
