Movies

There is nothing usual about this movie, yet the idea and themes are not unusual. This film is of high contrast compared to 9 Songs in which Michael Winterbottom pushed the limits too far. In the sense that the limits are being pushed - this movie goes right to the edge (and then some) without causing a panic. I never thought I’d say one of my favorite and one of least favorite movies would be from the same Director/Writer. The ideas of our near future are probably the most realistic of any movie - even the mixture of languages (which may make the movie hard to understand if you aren’t familiar with basic Spanish, French, and Arabic). It presents many questions and problems with government, morals, and love - and proves that no matter the steps we will take in the future to prevent things from happening that may be looked down upon by the majority’s morals - nothing can surpass the power of the human mind, memory, and love. If I were to recommend any movie to anyone (other than children due to intense sexual scenes) this would be it!
